Heterogeneous impact of artificial intelligence on carbon emission intensity: Empirical test based on provincial panel data in China

Introduction Energy conservation and emission reduction, as a major policy of China for long time, has been put on the key strategic position. Based panel data 30 provinces, cities districts in from 2006 to 2019. Methods This paper uses fixed effect model spatial Durbin explore mechanism artificial intelligence (AI) regional carbon intensity (CEI). Results The results show that: (1) there is significant inverted U-shaped between AI CEI, that is, with deepening development AI, CEI first increases then decreases. (2) There correlation China. (3) spillover adjacent regions, it shows an track-from promoting restraining. Discussion conclusion provides implications formulation strategy so during specific period.
